In the recent marmarisinfo.com stories we popped a question about a seafront hotel and got all the wrong answers 🙂 The question was about this particular feature in a hotel’s front facade, located on the Long Beach in Marmaris. ‘Why did the balconies become brick walls?’ and the alternative answers were given: 1- Built with no planning permission 2- Due to safety issues 3- The owner decided the sea view will make guests seasick Guess what, the weird #3 reply was correct! How about that?

Health Alert: COVID-19 Related Restrictions in Turkey – Update

April 14, 2021 The Government of Turkey announced the following measures to combat COVID-19 in Turkey, which are going into effect at 19:00 on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, in all provinces, for the following two weeks: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: curfew in effect from 19:00 to 05:00* exceptions to the curfew will apply to tourists Saturdays and Sundays: curfew in effect from Friday at 19:00 to Monday at 05:00*exceptions to the curfew will apply to tourists Convenience stores (market), groceries, bread shops, butchers, nut shops as well as production, manufacturing, supply chains, and health workers are exempt from the weekend curfew. LESSENING RESTRICTIONS IN TURKEY

Dear Friends We hope you are all safe and healthy.Here’s the latest news about the lessening of the restrictions in Turkey. The restaurants and cafes are open from 7am until 7pm in all areas except for the extremely high risk area. Limited to 50% capacity. (effective 02/03/2021) Curfew hours imposed from 21:00 until 05:00 am are continued in all of the country. (effective 02/03/2021) Weekend lockdowns are lifted for low risk areas. (effective 02/03/2021)Sunday lockdowns are continued in high risk areas. (effective 02/03/2021)Weekend lockdown is continued in extremely high risk areas. (effective 02/03/2021) 65+ and under 20 years old restrictions are lifted for low and minor risk areas.High risk and extremely high risk areas restrict the hours to be out from 10:00 – 14:00 for people over 65 years of age, while anyone younger than 20 can go out from 14:00 – 18:00.
