You never know when you might be seeing somewhere for the last time… Icmeler….

It is so true when they say ‘You never know when you might be seeing someone or somewhere for the last time. For us it was the 19th of July 2021 when we travelled to Icmeler to take photos and videos to share in the morning views article… This morning’s views were not something we would like to share with you. But we know you care and share the deepest sorrow about the loss and damage the wildfire has been causing since yesterday. For the past 24 hours Turkey has been fighting against the most catastrophic wildfires in history. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who are affected in Icmeler, Aydin, Manavgat, Didim, Adana, Bodrum and the firefighters who are putting all efforts to stop the fire. This seal is issued in recognition of the wide range of industry-appropriate steps that a hotel has implemented in recent months to safeguard guests and employees from infection by ensuring proper hygiene and social distancing.Hotels with the new ‘Safe Tourism’ seal provide disinfectant, face masks and installed appropriate floor markings for social distancing and signs. Disinfectant dispensers are available for your use in their lobbies, fitness rooms and gyms, cafes and restaurants. The restaurants inside such hotels are now equipped with plexiglass shields. Receptionists wear face masks as well as plexiglass shields covering.These hotels have also increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing all touchable surfaces in rooms, public areas and vehicles. The summer heats up on the 01st of July with another ease of restrictions in Turkey. There is no curfew hour and Sunday lockdowns any longer. Restrictions on transportation capacity as well as seating capacity in cafes and restaurants have been lifted. However, music is allowed only until midnight. Forest fire on the last lockdown Sunday in Icmeler Marmaris Today’s the last lockdown Sunday, but also the first time the forest fire broke out above Icmeler, Marmaris. A large number of firefighters rushed to the scene, but the main support always comes from above, the helicopter firefighters were fast to fight the forest fire today. The weather is hot and windy, the main reasons to cause fire in the coastal towns, and we hear of a series of fires in Bodrum and Kaş on previous days. Deceptive calm in Marmaris Turkey

The wildfires in Marmaris and around Turkey continue to dominate the headlines in Turkey and around the world. Forest fires have always been a part of our history, however it has never been so widespread. It’s been five days since the wildfires broke out in Marmaris and Icmeler. The wildfires have spread along the coast, destroying the landmarks of nature and tourism. The tourists and locals were evacuated from Icmeler, Turunc and other areas affected by fire. The local community has provided the most rapid and generous response. Most of the local population spend sleepless nights and full days in extreme heat collecting sandwiches, iced water and other essentials for the firefighters and volunteer teams fighting against the fire up in the mountains and nearby villages.
