Things you can do on the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day in Marmaris for free
One of the most important national days in Turkey is here: the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. The great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has continually emphasized the role of the youth and children, who are the future of the Republic of Turkey.
To mark the day, we’re also getting an extra day off on Friday meaning it’s going to be a festive day and one big, weekend-long party. The festivities are expected to include no less than one procession, an official parade and free concerts and dancing Friday May 19 to Sunday May 21.
Marmaris is filled with festive events and things you will enjoy for free over the weekend. If you do want to have a good time there’s plenty going on in Marmaris. You’ll no doubt notice Marmaris is looking slightly different over this weekend. Marmaris streets are filled with national flags and huge portraits of Atatürk. Red and white balloons will hang out from cafes and restaurants, Turkish flags and flower beds and people wearing red and white will start to appear on May 19th.

Galart Marmaris International Dance and Music Festival at 20:00 on the 19th of May Square by the central Dancing Fountain

It will take place at 15:00hrs on the 19th of May Square by the central Dancing Fountain. Please come to the baby Zehra’s stall, all proceeds will go to her treatment campaign.

Attend Aybüke Albere’s Concert at 20:00 on Atatürk Square
Join the Torchlight Procession from Ketenci Hotel at 20:30 to walk down to Atatürk Square. Please note this part of the road will be closed to traffic for the procession.
Attend Berkay’s Concert at 21:00 on Atatürk Square
