Will Marmaris International Culture & Arts Festival be going ahead?

Unfortunately with the continuing wildfire in Bordubet Marmaris the Festival committee has just announced the cancellation and postponement of some of the concerts that were planned for the weekend. The reasons for cancelling and postponing the concerts given were physical and psychological conditions created by the wildfire. The concert of Bogazici Youth Choir scheduled for the 25th of June at Marmaris Amphitheatre and İlyas Mirzayev and Muğla Folk Symphony and MAKSAD Chamber Orchestra scheduled for the 28th of June at Marmaris Amphitheatre will be postponed to a later date in autumn. The new concert dates are yet to be announced by the Festival committee. The Children’s theatre that was planned for the 24th of June in Turgut has been cancelled. According to the Festival committee public health is the main priority.

Forest fire on the last lockdown Sunday in Icmeler Marmaris Today’s the last lockdown Sunday, but also the first time the forest fire broke out above Icmeler, Marmaris. A large number of firefighters rushed to the scene, but the main support always comes from above, the helicopter firefighters were fast to fight the forest fire today. The weather is hot and windy, the main reasons to cause fire in the coastal towns, and we hear of a series of fires in Bodrum and Kaş on previous days. We hope for the minimum affect on our are and praise the firefighters who are saving the green and blue shades of the region.   The forest fire that broke out in Icmeler Marmaris on Sunday morning 27.06.2021 could be seen all over the resort. Is it dangerous to swim in the sea in Marmaris?

Is it dangerous to swim in the sea in Marmaris? Is it dangerous to swim in the sea in Marmaris? For many years Marmaris beaches were safe for swimming all year round. However, with the latest news about a shark visiting Marmaris bay on Monday July 04th 2022 put the safety of swimming in question. As you will recall the big fish was chased away by brave local men with… a mop?! Later on the same day the officials said it wasn’t a shark but a Mediterranean garfish (Belone belone) also known as the garpike or sea needle. Apparently it was hunting near the shore in Marmaris. It could have been a juvenile fish that tend to remain in shallower waters until they grow.
