What is happening in Marmaris on the Republic Day?
October 29th in Marmaris is always full with parades and performances dedicated to the Republic Day in Turkey. Such performances usually consist of theater sketches, poetry readings and traditional Turkish dances. Officials and people of Marmaris will lay wreaths to Atatürk’s monuments. This year the official celebratory parade will take place on the City Stadium at 10:00 AM.
The Turkish Coast Guard Ship TCSG-310 to visitors today to commemorate the Republic Day. The visiting hours are from 09:00 – 17:00 on Marmaris Municipality Pier.
The morning parade will be followed by celebratory events at Ataturk Science and Education Park in Icmeler at 13:30 hrs. Then the Republic Day celebrations will gather the people of the nearby villages in Sogut and Selimiye villages at 17:30 and 18:00 respectively. The community of Selimiye village will gather for dinner on its main street.
In Marmaris the traditional evening parade with flags and fire torches will take place on the main boulevard of Ataturk. The Parade will begin at 8:30 PM or 20:30 hrs and the starting point is in front of Ketenci hotel all the way down to the main square at the statue of Ataturk.
In the evening of October 29 in Marmaris the popular band ZAKKUM will take stage on the main square at Atatürk’s monument at 8 PM or 21:00 hrs to commemorate Republic Day in Marmaris, Turkey.
