
How to beat the Heat Next week: Heatwave forecast for Marmaris
Yet another heatwave is in the forecast for most of Turkey and Marmaris. Temperatures are expected to rise by 4 – 7 degrees starting Saturday the 19th of July. Several heat health alerts issued by the Turkish Health Ministry and the Met Office remain in place from Saturday the 19th of July until Friday the 25th of July for Marmaris.
While Europe and UK remain gripped by an intense rainy weather with UK, France, Germany, Netherlands and the Baltics all experiencing thundery showers and winds, most of Turkey including Marmaris are experiencing scorching heat in recent days.
The maximum temperature in Marmaris was 41.8C in June, according to the Met Office. The average temperature in Marmaris was 25.8C throughout June, according to the Met Office.
Much of the Aegean may experience “heatwave” conditions from Saturday this week. Public Health offers advice on staying safe in the heat.
Heat-related disruptions were reported in June – firefighters continue to tackle wildfires in Turkey all connected to heat, wind and people’s negligence.
Since July and August are the hottest months in Turkey the heatwaves will continue.
