When are the school term dates in 2025 – 2026?
In Turkey the schools are on their half term holidays in November, March, April and summer to mid September.
Most school children can expect to enjoy a week’s half term holiday falling roughly halfway through the first term and the second term.
We take a look at when half term is coming up and the school holiday dates for the 2024 – 2025 academic year across Turkey so you can plan ahead or around these dates 🙂
When is the Winter half term holiday?
In Turkey most schools will be on half term holiday from 20 January – 31 January 2025.
When are the school holidays in 2026?
The majority of schools in Turkey are following this pattern:
Autumn / Winter term 2025 – 2026
Start of term: Monday 8 September, 2025
Tuesday 29 October 2025 – Republic Day i.e. Cumhuriyet Bayramı”
First Half Term Holiday: 10 November – 14 November 2025
Wednesday 01 January 2026 – New Years’ Day i.e. “Yılbaşı” or “Yılbaşı Bayramı”
Winter Half Term Holiday: 19 January – 30 January 2026
Spring / Summer term 2026
Start of term: Monday 02 February, 2026
Mid Term Holiday: Monday 16 March to Friday 20 March, 2026
End of term: Friday 26 June, 2026
Religious Festival of Ramazan Bayramı or Eid al-Fitr (‘Şeker Bayramı’, ‘Bayram of Sweets’): Friday 20 March – Sunday 22 March, 2026
