Where should I go in Marmaris?
Nestled between mountains and the Aegean and the Mediterranean seas Marmaris is packed with cafés, restaurants and beaches plus shops such as the jewellery, leather, carpet, bags, textile, accessories. Designer and vintage labels are frequently used as imitations. A few years ago stories were told about foreign tourists buying Rolex watches that weren’t genuine.
Yet there are some quality furs and leather goods, shimmering fabrics, floral prints – all with local brands.
A good mix of cafes and bars on the water front, with most of them on the same stretch of Long Beach.
For a wholesome Turkish breakfast, Turkish food, fish and seafood take a short trip to Akyaka in Gokova, about 30 minutes out of Marmaris.
