Sea Turtles Research, Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, environmental protection and wildlife conservation on the south west coast have reached its peak last weekend.

The First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdoğan and Minister of the Environment and Urbanization Murat Kurum made an appearance on the Turtle Beach.

The officials visited the Turtle Beach in Dalyan as part of the environmental outreach following their visits to other natural habitats in Antalya and Patara.

As you may already know, The Turtle Beach is one of the most important Caretta caretta sea turtles nesting areas in the Mediterranean.

During the visit at the Sea Turtles Research, Rescue and Rehabilitation Center (DEKAMER) on Turtle Beach, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s wife Emine Erdoğan has released three sea turtles to their natural habitat. Caretta carettas are brought to DEKAMER when injured or ill. They receive medical treatment and care at the center. As soon as they fully recover, the sea turtles are released back to the sea.

As part of the the Sea Turtles Conservation Project satellite tracking devices are attached to rehabilitated sea turtles. These devices help scientists to follow the adventure of the turtles and track any threats they may encounter.
