Turkish Lemonade

Turkish Lemonade, known as Limonata, is a refreshing and tangy beverage that is perfect for hot summer days. It is made using fresh lemons, sugar, and water.

Turkish Lemonade Ingredients

  • 4-5 lemons
  • 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Turkish Lemonade Instructions

Juice the lemons

Squeeze the juice from the lemons and strain it to remove any seeds or pulp. You should have around 1 cup of lemon juice.

Prepare the sugar syrup

In a saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture forms a syrup. Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool.

Mix the lemonade

In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice, sugar syrup, and remaining 3 cups of water. Stir well to ensure that the flavors are well combined.

Chill and Serve

Place the pitcher of Turkish Limonata in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to chill. This will allow the flavors to meld and the drink to become refreshingly cold.

Garnish and Serve

Once chilled, give the Lemonade a final stir. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled lemonade over the ice. Optionally, you can garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves for added aroma and presentation.

Enjoy your homemade Turkish Lemonade as a cooling and zesty beverage. It pairs well with Turkish dishes, mezes, or can be enjoyed on its own as a thirst-quenching drink.
