For the past few days a lot has been said about the second wave hitting the world. They are talking about closing borders again. Some state this could take place as early as 22 September, others give October 01 as the date for new borders closure. To be honest when we look back in time, let’s say in winter we could not see such things in our worst dreams. It seemed impossible that the world would close down. We would not believe that we would be on quarantine, lock downs wear masks and avoid social life and any physical contact. The world has drastically changed and so have we.
A lot of us feel scared and insecure but with regards to new wave of the pandemic we do not believe border closures could happen again. It has caused very large problems for the world economy earlier this year. Plus it was not that effective to stop the spread of the virus. So no we don’t think this is going to happen again.
It is pointed out that Turkey is now suffering from an increase in new COVID19 cases. Will Turkey be closing its borders? Probably not. Turkey was among the first countries to lift travel bans. Turkey has remained quarantine – free and have not required a negative test of COVID19 on arrival either. A large number of hotels in Turkey were incredibly fast to adjust and complete full range of requirements to be certified as COVID19 safe accommodations.
Sadly many things in hospitality have become the thing of the past: open buffets, self service, lively entertainment and so on.
