Marmaris streets to close for Democracy and National Unity Day of Türkiye, including road closures in central Marmaris this week.

Marmaris is looking forward to hosting the historic celebrations of the Democracy and National Unity Day of Türkiye, and it will be exciting to see the celebratory cycling tour on our streets on July 15th 2025. Throughout the celebrations the central streets and roads will be closed to traffic.
In anticipation of the Democracy and National Unity day in Turkey celebrated on July 15 2025 Marmaris Governorship has ordered the following and provided instructions to assist the National bicycle race and the street parade in Marmaris.
The National Bicycle Race to commemorate the heroes and martyrs on the Democracy and National Unity day will be taking place from 9:00 AM until 13:00 afternoon in Marmaris Turkey on July 15 2025.
Large-scale events during the week will involve road closures in central Marmaris, which are expected to cause temporarily travel disruption, delays and bus route changes. People should avoid driving in central Marmaris and use alternatives routes that avoid the area if they are not attending the events.
Many popular central Marmaris locations, including Atatürk Square and the Central Fountain Square are accessible by foot. The central Marmaris is the area where Democracy and National Unity Day of Türkiye commemoration events will be taking place. Cycling is also a fantastic option for attending those events in Marmaris. However some roads will be closed, including the cycleway stretches on Atatürk avenue, Ulusal Egemenlik street and partly on Kemal Seyfettin Elgin bulvar which are closed until after the Cycling Marathon and Commemorations. Those cycling may have to walk at some locations with their bike if it’s busy.
Some roads in Marmaris may be busier than usual, particularly on Monday the 14th July night and Tuesday the 15th July daytime and night at key celebratory places designated to the cycling marathon and public events. Some of Marmaris’roads and streets will be transformed into temporary spaces for commemorations and social gatherings.
It is recommended that Marmaris visitors plan ahead, allow more time for their journeys and use real-time information to see how taxi or bus services are operating. Local authorities will have details of the roads affected in local areas.
