Is Marmaris COVID-19 Free?
The Head doctor Sahir Ökten at Marmaris Private Hospital Ahu confirmed that Marmaris has no active cases of COVID-19 in the city. In his statement made on Monday June 08th he also praised Marmaris for surviving the pandemic period much better than other areas in Turkey. He reassured the community of the current situation with no active cases of COVID-19 in Marmaris.
Overall Marmaris has great healthcare system with two private and one state hospitals, as well as a number of private clinics and private medical practitioners.
Due to its geographic location Marmaris cannot be easily compared to other cities in Turkey where people move and travel when you talk about COVID-19 cases.
Two months ago the Ministry of Interior had announced travel restrictions between 31 cities.
These travel restrictions have been lifted only this weekend in Turkey.
