Most of the roads in
Marmaris are ready and the largest part of the paving project has been completed along the main road from the Pearl
round about to the main square around the fountain. The replacement of water
pipes on the road to Icmeler has been completed just in time for arrivals in
May.
Small open fishing boats putter across to Paradise island in the still of
the early morning, carving a chuckling wake on the open sea. In fact fishing is

Every Thursday
and Sunday there is a weekly village
market in Marmaris. Icmeler village market is on Wednesdays. The fruit
and vegetable market is a visual delight and the market is also good for
things like sumac and pomegranate molasses which are not readily
available elsewhere.
The weekly market stalls are laden with strawberries, honeymellons,
lemons, apples, beetroot and
fresh herbs, spices, Turkish delight, lokum, even some clothes, basic
shoe and beach wear in Icmeler and Marmaris markets.
The market in Marmaris is located three blocks away from the main street in the main two storey building in the
