for Spring is the Marmaris Festival from the 19 to 23 May 2010. What to
expect during the festival? Evening outdoor concerts, dances, live music
at the square of Ataturk, Netsel marina and amphitheatre. 19th of May is
the first festival day and the evening parade will begin at 06:00pm
(18h00) from the hotel Ketenci along the main road. There are 700
participants from Turkey and foreign countries, including Russia,
Ukraine, Brazil, China, Georgia, Czech Republic, North Cyprus, Bulgaria,
Germany right now in Marmaris. To celebrate the first festival day and
Youth and Sports festival in commemoration of Ataturk the evening
performance of the famous dance group "The Fires of Anatolia" will
continue the evening. We will be posting more info about the festival as
well as the pictures on the website.

Every Thursday there is a weekly village
market in Marmaris. Icmeler village market is on Wednesdays. The fruit
and vegetable market is a visual delight and the market is also good for
things like sumac and pomegranate molasses which are not readily
available elsewhere.
The weekly market stalls are laden with strawberries, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, lemons and
fresh herbs in Icmeler and Marmaris markets.
The market is located three blocks away from the main street in the main two storey building in the
