My gran took me to Turkey
To have a holiday
She said I know a good hotel
And that is where we'll stay

We took a flight from Glasgow
And landed in Dalaman
It was there we met our escort
A young and handsome man

Soon we arrived in Marmaris
At reception we rang the bell
It was the start of a brilliant week
At the Anemon Hotel

Our room was clean and tidy
The bathroom it was great
And what was by the bedside
Some fruit upon a plate

The restaurant was very welcoming
Idris looked after us so well
The food was delicious and plentiful
And from the kitchen came a great smell

Each morning we picked a sunlounger
I just loved it in the pool
I played for hours every day
Cos I had a week away from school

Suma she was lovely
She had a super smile
And Evren was just brilliant
She played with me a while

Huseyin he was the barman
And some stories he did tell
The housekeeping was done by Fatima
She did everything so well

The boss was Mr Ali
Everyone liked him very much
And he is always very busy
Giving the Anemon a special touch

I'm home in rainy Scotland
And to eveyone I do tell
About my memories of a brilliant week
At the Anemon Hotel

I'd love to take my gran back to Marmaris
For the sun and apple tea
To the Anemon Hotel which was just great
